I am a Cheesehead and avid Green Bay Packer fan. When I make this known, I am always asked what I think about Brett Favre playing for our arch-rival, the Minnesota Vikings.
Watching Brett play for the Vikings is like having an ex-husband that you are still in love with flaunting his stuff with his new trophy wife. Oh, and that trophy wife was always one of your biggest competitors making passes at Brett while you were still married. You hate her more than ever.
You know Brett’s moves well, you can see in his eyes when he is losing confidence. You know that he will be more emotional than most men when things go wrong. You secretly watch with glee when he makes a great play and celebrates like he is still a teen. You miss him. After all, your love affair lasted 16 years. You chose him before he was famous and helped develop him into what he is today. You grew up together.
As you watch him from afar, you want him to be sorry that he has left you for someone you find so disdainful. You don’t want him to be hurt in a physical way, but would like to see him and his new bride completely humiliated.
The Packers lost the first round against the Vikings. It was painful to see Brett wearing the purple Number 4 jersey and bitter to see them win. On Sunday, November 1st, the Vikings are coming to Green Bay. Brett is coming home, with his new love, to face the family he betrayed. This divorce is going to get ugly.
