What Game Were the Refs Watching
BY MAX BERMAN
I've already written about referees making bad calls at big times. But after watching game two of the 2010 NBA Finals, I can’t help myself but to write about it again. First, there were eight players that had four or more fouls during the game including Ron Artest who fouled out. Kobe Bryant ended the game with five fouls. But what got me was that two of them were clear flops by Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo and they were both momentum changers. Both of the flops took place near or on the sidelines directly in front of the refs. Allen faked getting hit by Bryant’s elbow, and Rondo faked getting pushed by Bryant. The calls were unbelievable. This is the NBA Finals and I can’t believe I have to sit here and talk about the lack of professional refereeing. Another big call was when Boston forward Kevin Garnett and Los Angeles forward Pau Gasol were battling for the ball. The ball was deflected out of bounds and the original call was that it hit Gasol last. It was clearly off of Garnett and even after a review, they still couldn't make the right call. It truly amazes me that even with replay; they simply can’t make the right call. The refs need to step it up or I say bye-bye to their jobs.
I’m Max Berman and that’s what I think.
