The Tenth Inning
BY RON BARR
Historian and filmmaker Ken Burns talks with Ron Barr about his new documentary, "The Tenth Inning," which details the transformation of baseball over the last two decades. Burns discusses the numerous rule changes, the addition of inter-league play and the wild card, the devastating strike, and-- of course-- the specter of steroids and how they have all been overshadowed by the great resilience of the game. "So many spectacular stories happened, we couldn't not come back and update this story," says Burns.
PBS is airing an encore presentation of "The Tenth Inning" on November 8th at 9pm and November 15th at 9pm. Visit PBS.org for more details.
